There are all different types of water conditioning available. Each system has a specific use. Results vary depending upon geographical location, well and casing depth, and whether the well head is above or below the grade of earth. There is no law that requires remediation for any real estate closing, however the buyers’ mortgage and local ordinance may require it for their Certificate of Occupancy. Please check into it, so you are aware of the requirements. After discussing the results, we can guide you to the proper system/s. Systems usually require an electrical source within the area. Crawl spaces should be measured to see about height space to accommodate some systems.

Examples of water conditioning treatment:

Ultraviolet light -Specificly treats for Bacteria/Total Coliform (TC). The UV light is a high intensity light that kills different strains of bacteria. Nothing is added to the water. A new bulb is required annually for optimum results.

Chlorinators - Bacteria, All inorganic chemicals, (Nitrates/Sodium Chloride) Some organic chemicals. Chlorine is added to the water, but then is removed through carbon filtration.

Softener/Ion Exchange - Hard water/calcium, iron, manganese, some heavy metals/nitrates. A sodium or potassium chloride is required to be added to maintain optimum results.

Neutralizer -pH Calcite media -An acid neutralizer is designed to prevent the problems associated with acidic water by raising the pH levels of your home's water to as close to 7 as possible.

Carbon filtration- Some organic chemicals, Trihalomethanes, some pesticides, taste/ Odor.

Reverse Osmosis- Point of Use only, not whole house solution. Nitrates, Dissolved Solids/Metals, Certain Organic Chemicals.
